Default Contest Rules / FAQ - 09-03-2009, 10:32 PM

Hello and welcome to the CGC monthly Digital Sculpting Contest!

Every month we will be posting a new thread/theme, where everyone is welcome to participate and compete for fun and, of course, prizes!

During the first week of the month we will announce the winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) and post new themes, usually no later than the 5th of the month. Winners are judged based on a combination of originality, concept and technical execution.

As this is the DIGITAL SCULPTING contest, you are being judged on your modeling/sculpting. Texturing, fancy lighting/rendering is not required. You are welcome to submit renders straight out of Zbrush/Mudbox/etc, but of course are also welcome to render them out of Maya/Max/XSI/etc.

Please adhere to the following RULES:

1. All submissions should be made in a reply to the contest thread.

2. All submissions should include a link to a WIP (Work-In-Progress) thread, so that the community can learn from your efforts. The WIP forum section is located in the CG Art forum category. Name your WIP threads using the following format: name, contest. i.e. Joe Smith, The Villain.

3. The contest theme threads, where you post your submissions, are not meant for critiques, please post your constructive comments in the WIP threads.

4. Winners will be contacted via email or PM within one week of the winners being announced.

5. Please show courteous and professional conduct while participating in the contests... this is meant to be a fun, challenging learning experience for those involved.

PRIZES.

We are happy to have The Gnomon Workshop as a sponsor for the Digital Sculpting contest! Each month three winners will win their choice of Gnomon DVDs.

1st place: 10 DVDs. 2nd place: 5 DVDs. 3rd place: 2 DVDs

So there you have it!
If you have any questions, let us know... and good luck to all!!!

Hi,

Difficult theme for a sculpting challenge, but I might give it a try. When did the contest start and when will it end? Canīt find anything about that. I guess the last day of this month is the deadline?
Good luck to all of you!

Edit: Ok, sorry, found the end date in the banner. So 1st day of the next month, need to hurry up

Am I wrong or is the contest still open until the 5th? Itīs so confusing, the banner says all challenges are due to the 1st of every month, in the matte painting forum the moderator said, itīs open until the 5th ...
